REVIEWS

Sarah Bailey, Lexie McEntire, Meggan Utech, and Darci Wantiez are wonderfully arch as Ariel’s quartet of mersisters, morphing assuredly and with style into any number of other characters.... “She’s in Love” is performed with 1960s girl group precision and skill, and is one of the show’s musical highlights.”

The beautiful Lexie McEntire shows off her own showbiz-y attributes as Diana Dream/Dolores Dolores.

Transcendent soprano Lexie McEntire is stunning as she portrays the innocent and naïve Maria who feels she must follow her heart, no matter what the consequences might be. McEntire soars as she sings the incandescent “I Have a Love,” and demonstrates a lighter side with the humorous “I Feel Pretty.”

The diverse ensemble cast is quite talented and do the material justice. The key, however, is the chemistry between Tony and Maria and the two young performers, Ben Peter and Lexie McEntire, make a convincing argument for their young love.

It is… so compelling to watch Lexie McEntire as Ilse, a young bohemian… Her rendition of “Blue Wind” is vocally strong and emotionally arresting.

Having just recently performed as part of the dance ensemble of the critically acclaimed and audience-lauded Studio Tenn/Tennessee Performing Arts Center co-production of Evita, starring Eden Espinosa, Anthony Crivello and Ben Crawford (which is but one listing on her burgeoning resume), earlier this year she played Maria in West Side Story for the Little Theatre of Alexandria (Virginia) and was dance captain in the Street Theatre Company production of In The Heights.
